In 2017 British Precast Architectural & Structural (BPAS), formerly known as the Architectural & Structural Precast Association (ASPA), underwent a rebrand and shortly thereafter, approached us to spearhead the redesign of their quarterly newsletter publications. Our objective was to strictly adhere to BPAS’s newly scripted brand guidelines whilst challenging their limitations. By pushing the confines of the brand guidelines, we were able to design a modern and adaptable layout and make full use of the colour palette available to us.
The layout was intentionally designed to maximise the quality photography, diagrams and imagery accessible to us. This was coupled with offset headline text on block colours, to make every page pop out and inviting to read through. The final design is one that can be tailored to the varying content of each quarterly newsletter edition, whilst still being identifiable as part of a set of publications, and without compromising the integrity of the brand guidelines.
