A bit of history

By Danny 20 March 2015

If you live or work near Leicester, you may have noticed some… unusual improvements over the last month or so… newly painted bins on the pavement, newly painted lines on the road and light up parking metres (to go nicely with the musical bollards). Intrigued by these developments, I had to find out whether there was something more to the story.

A short walk from our Leicester studio, I discovered the royal reason behind Leicester’s latest facelift – King Richard III.

A host of special events are taking place from next week in the lead up to King Richard’s reinterment, which is taking place at Leicester Cathedral later this month.

The King Richard III Visitor Centre, the finalist for the Museums + Heritage Awards Guardian Culture Pros Pick 2015, is a local attraction, which retells the globally renowned and unexpected story of the ‘King in the Car Park.’ For more information of the timetable of events in the lead up to the reinterment, please click here.
